Full course description

Upon completion of this course, the health care provider will: 1) be familiar with the history of the culture-change movement that resulted in person-centered care; 2) understand the guiding principles for person-centered care; 3) learn about assessment and individualized care planning; 4) explore the meaning of ethno-geriatrics and its different applications in caring for the older adult; and 5) learn about the social determinants of health.

The course content has been reviewed and has been approved for 1.75 CEs for Certified Nurse Aides. The Health and Human Services is approved to provide CNA in-service education by the State of Texas per Texas Administrative Code §556.9.
