Upon completion of this course, the health care provider will 1) be familiar with the most recent state and federal guidelines for keeping infectious diseases at a low rate in their facilities; 2) understand best practices for preventing and managing infections and keeping them from spreading; 3) understand the importance of implementing and following policies procedures for infection prevention and control, and practicing surveillance, tracking, monitoring and reporting data on their progress in order to see continued improvement.

Accreditation Statement: This activity has received continuing professional nursing education accreditation from the University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing. University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
