COURSE DESCRIPTION

This educational activity, led by Paige Domyahn de Almaraz, MPH, BSN, RN, PHN, CPH, addresses a critical knowledge gap among nurses regarding Human Papillomavirus (HPV) prevention, vaccination, and patient care. Designed for a wide audience of registered nurses, including ambulatory, pediatric, oncology, school, community health, and mother-baby nurses, the course delivers evidence-based content through interactive methods such as discussion boards, knowledge checks and reflective exercises. It emphasizes the importance of HPV education in nursing practice, aiming to enhance nurses’ ability to educate patients, promote vaccination, and provide informed, patient-centered care.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS

The co-author for this course is Marilyn Moore Henderson, MSN, FNP-C, RN.

Instructor photo

Marilyn earned both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) and Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degrees from the University of Texas at Austin. Throughout her nursing career, she has specialized in gynecology and infertility, bringing compassion and expertise to women's health. For the past decade, she has served as the Director of Science at the Medical Institute for Sexual Health. In addition to her leadership role, she mentors graduate students in public health from Liberty University, guiding them through impactful projects in sexual health.

 

 

 

The co-author and presenter for this course is Paige Domyahn de Almaraz, MPH, RN.

Paige is a registered nurse with a Master of Public Health and over five years of diverse experience in the healthcare industry. Her background spans direct patient care and nursing professional development, reflecting a strong commitment to both clinical excellence and lifelong learning.

Currently, Paige focuses on global health, nurse advocacy, and education. She designs evidence-based learning experiences that empower nurses to provide high-quality care, advance public health initiatives, and remain adaptable in an ever-evolving healthcare environment.
