MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR
The instructor for this course is Amanda Martinez, BSN, RN and Nicole Manley, MSN, RNC, HSE, CA-SANE.
Amanda Martinez is an alumnus of the University of Texas, Austin with a degree in biology and a master’s in nursing. She is the nurse coordinator for the Student Academic Success program, with twenty peer academic coaches providing services to our undergraduate program.
Amanda is a native of San Antonio, although she was raised in San Diego. She completed the AEMSN program at the University of Texas in December 2023. Amanda has experience as a teaching assistant in both laboratory and clinical settings. She has over two years of direct patient care nursing experience in the emergency department, along with public health and USAID grant experience from her time with the Peace Corps in Rwanda. During the first year of the COVID-19 pandemic, she served as an epidemiologist, leading a team of contact tracers to engage with community members.
Nicole Manley is the Interim Director of the Learning Enhancement and Academic Progress Center (LEAP) and the Director of the Simulation & Skills Center at the University of Texas, Austin, School of Nursing. She is currently a third-year doctoral student studying the relationships between lifetime violence, psychological capital, and health outcomes.
Nicole provides clinical, educational, and technical expertise in developing, implementing, and evaluating all simulation and skills lab activities. Nicole also supports faculty leaders in integrating and implementing simulation activities across both undergraduate and graduate programs. In addition to her current roles, Nicole has experience in emergency nursing and forensic nursing. She holds a Texas certificate as an Adult Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and is a Certified Healthcare Simulation Educator.

Accreditation Statement
University of Texas at Austin School of Nursing is accredited as a provider of nursing continuing professional development by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.
Requirements for Successful Completion
To receive contact hours for this continuing education activity, the participant must register, complete the entire module, complete the post-test with a score of 80% or better, and complete and submit the evaluation form. Once successful completion has been verified, a “Certificate of Successful Completion” will be awarded for 2.0 contact hours.
