COURSE DESCRIPTION

This course provides advanced practice nurses with a comprehensive understanding of headache disorders, emphasizing evidence-based diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. Participants will explore the epidemiology, classification, and pathophysiology of headaches,. The course highlights symptom recognition, clinical presentation, and differential diagnosis, along with both pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities. Special attention is given to migraine, chronic migraine, and tension type headaches. Designed for clinicians seeking to deepen their neurological expertise, this course integrates current clinical guidelines with practical insights from acute and critical care settings.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

The instructor for this course is Quinton Rosser, MSN, FNP-C, RN, CNRN.

Quinton Rosser is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner and Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurse with a strong foundation in both acute and critical care. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Northern Illinois University in 2018 and began his nursing career at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago, where he provided care on a Neuro-Spine medical-surgical unit from 2019 to 2021.

In 2021, Quinton transitioned to the intensive care setting at St. David’s Medical Center in Austin, Texas. There, he worked in a mixed medical, cardiovascular, and neuro ICU, gaining extensive experience with advanced technologies including CRRT, balloon pumps, Impella devices, SLED, and ECMO.

While pursuing his Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Texas at Austin, Quinton continued working in the ICU and served as a teaching assistant in the simulation and skills lab. He graduated in the spring of 2024 and was accepted into the prestigious Neuroscience Advanced Practice Provider Fellowship at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville. This year-long fellowship, which he will complete in October 2025, has further deepened his expertise in the diagnosis and management of complex neurological conditions.

Quinton brings a unique blend of bedside experience, academic training, and advanced neuroscience specialization to his teaching, with a passion for empowering fellow clinicians through practical, evidence-based education.
