PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Leadership in Healthcare Cyber Risk Management Program is a professional education experience designed to equip experienced healthcare professionals with the essential knowledge and leadership skills to manage healthcare cyber risks in the United States. Comprised of six, four-week courses which can be taken individually or in sequence, the program is taught online by healthcare cybersecurity experts from around the nation.
The program will prepare graduates for impactful jobs within healthcare organizations, the vendor community, governmental positions and in other medical settings. Current working healthcare professionals who participate in this program will be able to retrain, upskill, strengthen digital health competencies, enhance their professional profile and advance their careers.

LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Understand and apply the essentials of enterprise cyber risk management and the hands-on skills necessary to conduct a security risk analysis.
- Acquire a foundational understanding of healthcare policy with a focus on security and privacy regulations and the ways that healthcare leaders address them in healthcare organizations.
- Learn the basic principles, architecture and controls for Identity and Access Management (IAM) in healthcare with an opportunity to develop a real-world IAM implementation plan that can be customized for your organization.
- Build knowledge and practical skills to plan for business continuity and disaster recovery to develop organizational resilience in healthcare organizations.
- Understand ransomware and extortion techniques targeting healthcare, including early threat detection, monitoring, incident response and containment strategies.
- Gain knowledge and practical applications to protect the Internet of Medical Things and other connected medical devices by analyzing common vulnerabilities, addressing incidents, and implementing remediation strategies like patching and micro segmentation, to reduce exposure in healthcare environments.
WHO SHOULD ENROLL
This program is designed for experienced U.S. healthcare professionals from a variety of healthcare or healthcare-related settings who want to enhance their careers, including:
- Clinical professionals,
- Healthcare administrators,
- Information Technology professionals, including Cybersecurity,
- Emergency preparedness professionals,
- Risk managers, and
- Other healthcare professionals.
Learners should have at least two years of U.S. healthcare-related experience and a college degree, or five years of U.S. healthcare-related experience without a college degree.
REGISTRATION PROCESS
Step 1 – Check your eligibility. Submit a Registration Approval Request to confirm eligibility for the program at least two weeks prior to the course start date.
Step 2 – Register and submit payment. After you receive notification via email that you have been approved to register, you must complete and return a Registration Form and payment at least two weeks prior to the course start date.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This program is designed to build knowledge and practical skills that can be immediately applied in the workplace. You will engage in self-directed learning to complete online assignments outside of class meetings. You should expect to spend three-to-five hours per week to complete lectures, assignments, quizzes and essential reading. Learners will complete a competency-based Capstone Project that will become part of an ePortfolio to demonstrate their professional achievements in the program.
The program comprises six four-week courses that can be taken in any order within a flexible completion timeframe of up to 2 years, though most students typically finish the certificate within 6 to 12 months.
Learners in all courses will be provided with supplemental program resources that will allow them to explore current healthcare cybersecurity topics such as the impact of cyber attacks on patient safety, artificial intelligence and more. Learners wishing to explore these enrichment resources will need to spend additional time beyond the 20 hours of time allotted per course.

However, if you prefer to purchase courses individually, you can pay as you go. You can register for individual courses, at $745/each, through their respective course pages. The total cost of the program if purchasing courses individually is $4,470.
Digital Badges
Upon successful completion of the program, you will be awarded a certificate and a digital badge in Leadership in Healthcare Cyber Risk Management. You will also receive a digital badge upon successful completion of each course in this program.
Digital badges demonstrate acquisition and competence of specific skills, knowledge or workforce training. They can be added to LinkedIn profiles and shared with employers.
